President
Nolan Kistler
Dear Barristers,
My name is Nolan Kistler, and I am honored to serve as President of the RCBA Barristers for the 2026–2027 term.
Over the past several years, I have been fortunate to serve alongside dedicated attorneys committed to strengthening our legal community. The Barristers have continued to grow through increased member participation, professional development opportunities, community service, and meaningful networking events.
As President, I look forward to building on that momentum by fostering engagement, mentorship, and collegiality among Riverside County’s attorneys. My goal is to ensure that the Barristers remain a valuable resource for professional growth, leadership development, and service to our community.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to the year ahead.

Derek Diemer
Treasurer
I am honored to have the opportunity to run for the Treasurer position on the Barristers Board. The camaraderie, professional growth, and shared commitment to excellence within the Barristers have solidified my roots in the Riverside legal community, and I cannot imagine practicing anywhere else. As an active member who has benefited greatly from the support and resources provided by the Barristers, I am passionate about giving back and contributing to the continued success and growth of our organization and the Riverside legal community at large. I humbly ask for your support and vote, and look forward to building upon the strong foundation toward an even brighter future.
Amanda Perez
Secretary and Member-at Large
I’m honored to be on the ballot for a Member-at-Large position and the secretary position with the RCBA Barristers. It would be a privilege to serve in either capacity. As an associate attorney at Reid & Hellyer and a current Barristers board member, I’ve truly valued being part of this incredible group. The camaraderie among young attorneys and our shared dedication to the legal profession is incredibly motivating. Practicing law in Riverside County has shown me the unique challenges new lawyers face—and how vital Barristers is in providing mentorship, support, and professional development. I’m committed to continuing efforts that uplift and connect early-career attorneys, while fostering a sense of community and growth. I humbly seek your support as we work together to strengthen the Barristers and build an even more fruitful and collaborative future for the next generation of attorneys.
Laura Isais Ayon
Member-at Large
I am genuinely honored to seek election as member at large for the RCBA Barristers Board. As a public interest attorney with Inland Counties Legal Services, I am committed to serving my community and our legal system. My work is dedicated to expanding access to justice and giving back to those who need it most. I also bring experience from leadership roles in other student organizations. Through the New Attorney Academy, I built friendships I will keep for a lifetime, grew professionally, and strengthened my connection to the legal community. I want to give back and help give this same experience to other new attorneys. I am a person who thinks big, strives for excellence, and is eager to give back to the RCBA.
Mackenzi Christenson
Member-at Large
I am honored to be nominated and run for Member-at-Large of the RCBA Barristers. I grew up in the Inland Empire and attended UCR, but left the area for some time and completed law school. When I returned as a young attorney who did not have connections in the area, RCBA Barristers offered me the friendship and connection to my community that I was searching for. I am committed to giving back to current members and paving the way for those who come after. Barristers plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of legal professionals and providing connections in our legal community. I would be proud to contribute to its continued impact. Thank you for your consideration and support.
Joe Ernatt
Member-at Large
I am very excited for the opportunity to be a member-at-large for the RCBA Barristers. While there are many incredible nominees for this position, I believe I would be a good fit for the role due to my past experience. In undergrad, law school, and at previous jobs, I have held leadership positions with responsibilities that have included planning, organizing, and executing social events, catered dinners, cocktail receptions, and even competitions and tournaments. Joining the Barristers has been one of the best parts of being a new attorney in Riverside, and I would love to use the skills and knowledge I learned from my previous experiences to give back to the RCBA and Barristers as a member-at-large.
Faran Imani
Member-at Large
My name is Faran Imani, and I have enjoyed being involved with Barristers over the past year through events, networking opportunities, and helping bring attorneys together.
As a Member-at-Large, I would like to continue building on that involvement by helping organize events, encouraging participation from newer attorneys, and creating opportunities for members to connect with one another. Some of the most valuable parts of Barristers are the relationships we build and the support we provide each other throughout our careers.
I would be grateful for your vote and the opportunity to continue serving the Barristers section.
Erika Perez

I look forward to supporting and advancing these efforts through meaningful engagement and dedicated service.
Ellen Peng
Member-at Large
My name is Ellen Peng and I have been involved with the Riverside Bar Association since I was in law school. The legal community in Riverside has been my strongest support system for a couple years now. Whether it’s for my personal or my professional life, I’ve found the best people to laugh with, talk through tough times, and celebrate everyone’s accomplishments! Barristers is the place to be to network, learn, and have fun. I have constantly vocalized how much I love the community here and if given the opportunity, I would be honored to part of the Barristers board again.
President-Elect
Sara Truitt
Serving as Member-at-Large this past year has been an incredibly rewarding experience and has given me such appreciation for what Barristers brings to our legal community. I am honored to run for President-Elect.
Over the past year, I prioritized active involvement, learning how Barristers operates, and gaining a deeper understanding of how we can connect with more people throughout Riverside County. Through that involvement, I experienced firsthand the value of the relationships and service opportunities that Barristers fosters. I truly believe Barristers provides the kind of community we need.
Elia Vazquez
Secretary
As a summer associate at Varner & Brandt, I was introduced to Barristers and welcomed into a great community of people who are passionate about building connections and mentoring others. Over the last year, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Member-at-Large and being able to give back to such a great organization, which has continued to give back to me and has helped me find my place in the Riverside legal community.

I am honored to be nominated for the Barristers Board of Directors. I am highly motivated, community-minded, and passionate about helping young attorneys feel connected, supported, and empowered within Riverside County. My diverse background as a broker of both real estate and mortgage, along with working in events, philanthropy, entrepreneurship & nonprofits, has strengthened my ability to build relationships and serve as a connector and door opener for others.
Joscelyn Carrillo
Member-at Large
Hi everyone, my name is Joscelyn. I've had the chance to meet many of you and build meaningful connections through Barristers. From serving as a mock trial scoring attorney to attending events like puppy yoga, I have connected with an incredible group of young attorneys. Through Barristers, I have befriended people who share my heritage, practice in my area of law, and have generously offered guidance on professional growth and starting a practice. Because of this positive experience, I hope to help engage and welcome new members so they can build similar connections. Regardless of the outcome, I look forward to continuing to support Barristers and the Riverside legal community.
Carolyn Deal
Member-at Large
I am running to be a Member at Large for Barristers Board to continue creating a positive and encouraging community for new attorneys. I moved to Riverside almost two years ago not knowing anyone in Riverside, and through RCBA and different events put on by Barristers, I feel connected and grounded in the legal community. As a legal aid attorney, I believe I will bring a unique perspective to the board about current public interest issues and also be able to share different ways attorneys can volunteer and support organizations doing good work in the community. I am grateful for your consideration, and I hope to steward the position well.
Briana Heiting
Member-at Large
I am grateful to have experienced the connection, mentorship, and sense of community that the Barristers provide. Having grown up in Riverside and now building my career here, I understand the value of a strong and supportive local legal community. Through my involvement with local bar organizations, including the CAOIE board, I have seen how meaningful professional relationships help attorneys, especially in their early years of practice, grow and succeed. I am committed to strengthening that sense of community, encouraging member involvement, and creating opportunities for attorneys to connect, learn, and build lasting professional relationships. I would be honored to serve and help continue making the Barristers a welcome and valuable resource for young attorneys throughout Riverside County.
Edgar Lopez
Member-at Large
I am honored to be considered for a position on the RCBA Barristers Board of Directors. As a solo practitioner practicing personal injury law in Redlands, my connection to this organization began in 2022 when I participated in the New Attorney Academy. From day one, I was struck by the incredible commitment and dedication of both the seasoned and newer attorneys involved.
Starting out as a young attorney, getting involved with professional legal organizations can often feel intimidating or out of place. Barristers was different. The members immediately welcomed me, and over the years, those professional connections have grown into genuine friendships. This community showed me the vital importance of being active in our local legal network and made me realize how I, too, could contribute to a larger mission.
Barristers events have consistently been exceptionally well-organized and impactful. Seeing this sustained success inspires me to want to play a more active role in the organization's growth. Bringing leadership experience from my involvement with local Chambers of Commerce and the CSUSB Alumni Association, I am confident I can bring fresh perspectives, energy, and a deep commitment to the board. If elected, I look forward to dedicating my time to furthering the growth, success, and community impact of the RCBA Barristers.
